WTCC-header

The Alfa Romeo 4C is the FIA WTCC Safety Car

L ‘ Alfa Romeo 4C , has been chosen by Eurosport Events such as the Safety Car of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) for the entire season in 2014.

This recognition is linked to the conquest by the Alfa Romeo 4C, the prestigious ” Grand Prix Auto finest of 2013 “on the occasion of the 29th International Automobile Festival in Paris; the compact supercar in fact was the winner of the survey conducted in partnership with the International Automobile Festival (IAF), the international network of sites Eurosport, a company that produces and promotes the FIA WTCC through its division Eurosport Events.

Designed by engineers at Alfa Romeo and Maserati in Modena produced at the plant, Alfa Romeo 4C is the modern icon of the brand as it is the essence of sportsmanship inherent in the ‘Alfa Romeo DNA’: excellent performance and technical excellence aimed at maximum driving pleasure combined with breathtaking style.

The excellent performance is achieved also thanks to the combination of the new 1750 Turbo Diesel 240 hp with the dual-clutch gearbox dry ‘Alfa TCT’ last generation and the Alfa DNA selector evolved with the all-new Race mode. In particular, the new ’4-cylinder’ 1750 Turbo Petrol direct injection at 200 bar and aluminum crankcase achieves impressive performance: the torque and power ratings are at the top of the class, respectively 200 Nm / 137 hp / l , while the maximum power is 240 hp (176 kW) at 6,000 rpm.

The supercar Alfa Romeo is therefore the perfect car to play the role of “Safety Car” in the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), the international competition involving sedans derived from large series. Produced and promoted by Eurosport Events up to 2005 (the division of the Eurosport Group, which organizes events at the international level), the FIA WTCC is also made for the 2014 season with 12 stages, in 4 continents and will end as usual in Macao, Circuito da Guia, November 16.
